Women’s History Month is an annual celebration and commemoration of the lives and works of women in society.
This year, the theme is strength. We aim to empower folks with the knowledge to not just get by in society, but to change it and make it better for everyone.
As Eleanor Roosevelt once wrote in 1933’s It’s Up to the Women:
Women, whether subtly or vociferously, have always been a tremendous power in the destiny of the world.
Whether it’s in shaking up the auto industry, fighting for women’s suffrage, striving for the women’s liberation movement, or speaking about their experiences, the events this month show that women are important in the Mahoning Valley and the world.
